Description:
The Environment Agency is seeking a technically confident and independent Evaluation Advisor to work within the regulation and enforcement arm of the Evaluation team. The role focuses on delivering applied evaluations that improve how regulatory and enforcement interventions protect and enhance the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse complex datasets, often imperfect, and apply appropriate analytical methods to draw meaningful insights.
Interpret evidence to develop practical recommendations for regulatory and enforcement interventions.
Engage with internal teams and external partners to communicate findings effectively.
Present insights through clear reports and presentations.
Support incident management alongside regular duties.
Required Skills and Experience:
Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
Practical experience in data analysis using Excel, Power BI, R, or SPSS.
Understanding of evaluation principles (Magenta Book).
Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting analysis to non-specialists.
Independent, pragmatic, and collaborative approach to work.
Curiosity and interest in using evidence to drive environmental outcomes.
Desirable:
Experience with Environment Agency, government, or environmental datasets.
Awareness of water industry or water policy context.
Experience communicating evidence to non-specialist audiences.

Contract & Location Details:
Contract up to 30 September 2026.
