Exercise Therapy Practitioner

Description:

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time Exercise Therapy Practitioner to join the therapies team at St. Ann's Hospital, a busy mental health inpatient unit. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support both the physical and mental health of patients through an inclusive and responsive exercise service.

The post holder will work closely with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and ward teams to deliver exercise programs tailored to the needs of patients, while being compassionate, motivational, and flexible in approach. Ongoing professional development and promotion of best practice in exercise provision are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exercise programs for patients with mental health conditions

• Induct patients and staff to gym facilities

• Respond to referrals and monitor patient progress

• Ensure safe practice in the exercise environment

• Collaborate with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and ward teams

• Complete Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course

• Comply with Enhanced DBS check requirements (covered by the Trust)

Qualifications Required:

• Level 3 Personal Trainer

• Level 3 Exercise Referral Training
