Navantia UK, a leading force in the UK’s maritime and defence engineering sector, is seeking skilled and motivated Welders to join their team at the Arnish facility in Stornoway.
Formed in 2022 as a subsidiary of Navantia SA, a renowned Spanish state-owned company with over 300 years of naval shipbuilding heritage, Navantia UK has quickly become a cornerstone of the UK’s industrial and defence landscape. In January 2025, Navantia UK strengthened its position through the acquisition of Harland & Wolff, inheriting four historic shipbuilding facilities located in Belfast, Appledore, Methil, and Arnish.
This strategic integration combines Harland & Wolff’s legendary heritage with Navantia’s international expertise, creating a powerhouse that supports Britain’s defence, energy, and maritime growth, driving innovation, sustainability, and employment across the nation.
Perform high-quality welding to client-agreed standards and weld procedure specifications.
Conduct FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) operations in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Weld and fabricate choke and kill lines, well casing joints, and related components.
Interpret engineering drawings accurately and deliver precise work to technical specifications.
Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure all welds meet required quality and NDT standards.
Collaborate effectively with supervisors and engineering teams to meet project targets and timelines.
Previous experience working in a shipyard, renewable energy, or heavy fabrication environment.
Valid 6G welding certification (in-date).
Thorough understanding of NDT requirements and industry-standard welding procedures.
Strong safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a larger engineering team.
