Onward Homes are now recruiting for a Part Time Facilities Operatives at Meadow Court, Porchfield Close, Liverpool, L11 9DT to deliver a high-quality caretaking and building maintenance service, resulting in a consistently safe and high-quality environment, which creates positive spaces for extra care housing customers.
Job Responsibilities
Health & Safety Compliance
- Undertaking weekly fire alarm checks and administration of log books. Supporting the scheme manager with weekly compliance checks.
- Support with winter tasks including help with preparations for snow and icy conditions as appropriate.
- Work to the highest standards of health and safety and assist with the promotion of a positive safety first culture.
- Support the Scheme Manager to ensure that the building is compliant with legislation.
Building Management
- Supporting the Building Safety Manager and Scheme Manager in the day to day maintenance of the scheme including reporting repairs and H&S concerns, reducing H&S risks and ensuring building security is maintained.
- Undertake removal of litter / fly tipping, and graffiti cleansing and supporting the cleaners as required.
- Granting access for contractors and supporting with compliance work.
- Refuse and Bin Store management
- Providing adhoc services to other schemes/properties as required
Repairs & Handyperson tasks
- Complete all low level repairs including; blocked sinks, toiler seat replacement, lock changes, replacing washers on taps, and changing lightbulbs.
- Monitoring individual and communal repairs.
- Supporting new customers with moving into the scheme by assisting with adhoc jobs e.g. curtain rails, hanging curtains, changing light bulbs etc.
Customer Service
- Act in a professional and customer focused manner while upholding Onward values, aims and objectives.
Records
- Ensure all works reporting and safety procedures are followed and record keeping is both accurate and professional.
Essential:
Skills, knowledge and experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, dealing with handy person repairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and external organisations.
- Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Experience of using power tools safely
- The ability to follow procedures and provide performance data of operations.
