Field Service Engineer

Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd., part of the global Liebherr Group, is seeking a Field Service Engineer – Earthmoving to join their team in Bathgate, Scotland. The role involves servicing, inspecting, and repairing earthmoving machinery and equipment at customer premises, on-site, or at the depot when required.

This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach. The Field Service Engineer will ensure machinery operates efficiently, repairs are completed to high standards, and customer satisfaction is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, inspect, and repair earthmoving machinery and equipment on-site or at the depot.

• Diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently and accurately.

• Manage warranty and return parts, ensuring correct packing, labelling, and timely return.

• Maintain accurate service records and ensure manuals are consistently updated.

• Comply strictly with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.

• Escalate any broken or damaged company equipment appropriately.

• Develop effective working relationships with depot support teams and assist colleagues as needed.

• Maintain a safe working environment for self and others.

• Support administrative tasks, ensuring paperwork is completed on time.

• Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are understood and met.

• Maintain quality standards on all repairs and leave sites in excellent condition.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of work processes.

• Uphold a professional image and ensure personal appearance and vehicle condition reflect company standards.

Candidate Requirements:

• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

• GCSE passes in Mathematics and English (grades A-C).

• Previous experience in a similar role or industry.

• Flexible approach to work and ability to use initiative.

• Proficiency with computers and IT relevant to the role.
