Field Technical Applications Manager

Description:

Avantor is seeking a Field Technical Applications Manager to support its Lab Specialty Products (LSP) Business Unit, focusing on the Biotech/Biopharma market. This role involves consultative selling, customer engagement, and technical guidance to drive business growth through Avantor-branded chromatography and plastics products.

The role is remote-based and requires 50% overnight travel across the UK. The ideal candidate will apply their sales expertise, LC-MS knowledge, laboratory automation experience, and project management skills to develop strong customer relationships and expand the market.

Key Responsibilities:

🔬 Consultative Sales & Technical Support: Provide technical expertise on lab chemicals, chromatography, and automated liquid handling solutions.
📈 Strategic Business Growth: Build and manage a pipeline of new opportunities to support revenue growth.
🔍 Product & Application Development: Collaborate with customers to optimize existing applications and introduce new Avantor products.
📊 Sales Process Management: Drive sales forecasting, funnel tracking, and opportunity management using CRM tools (C4C, PowerBI, QlikView).
🛠 Technical Expertise: Deliver deep knowledge in LC-MS workflows (monoclonal antibody characterization, nucleic acid therapeutics, drug discovery, and QC).
📢 Customer Engagement: Organize and lead on-site technical seminars, trade shows, and workshops to enhance market presence.
📝 Thought Leadership: Develop white papers and application notes in collaboration with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
📚 Market & Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technical advancements to support new product promotions.

Qualifications & Skills:

🎓 Education: Bachelor’s degree required; M.S. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences preferred.
💼 Experience: Minimum 5+ years in biotech, biopharma, or chemical industry.
🔬 Lab Expertise: 2-3 years of research lab experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biopharma, or related fields.
📊 Sales Background: 2+ years of sales experience in a technical/scientific environment preferred.
💻 Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, CRM tools (PowerBI, QlikView).
✈️ Travel Requirement: 50% overnight travel (including air travel).
