We are looking for two Finance Analyst to join Cancer Research UK to deliver timely, high quality and insightful reporting and financial planning for specified business areas. You will use your financial planning, modelling and reporting experience to provide analysis and decision support to various initiatives and projects across Cancer Research UK. You’ll work closely with the team’s management accountant, informing each other’s work to ensure a joint approach to financial reporting/planning and analysis.
This is a great opportunity for a part or newly qualified accountant, or a great sideways opportunity for someone looking to move their financial career into more of a reporting/analyst role. Cancer Research UK is a large, complex organisation, with nearly 600 shops , an events team delivering 570 events a year, a large operational organisation of around 4,000 people, and a research organisation with five laboratories , so there are lots of opportunities to progress and gain experience within various areas of finance, working across a variety of business areas.

What will I be doing?
Produce regular planning and reporting for specified business areas, understanding variances and providing accurate and insightful assessments of financial performance
Work closely with the management accountants in your team to ensure accounts are complete and correct
Supported by a Finance (or Senior) Manager, provide analysis and information to support decisions, projects and business cases from any area of CRUK as requested
Analyse trends and performance, feeding findings into forecasts and long-term financial planning
Produce analysis that turns data into insight, understand the 'so what' and question 'what's next?’
Work with the other members of your finance team to help produce the financial planning (forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning) for your specific business areas
Develop and provide income/expenditure modelling to support all financial planning (forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning) for specific business areas. Communicate clearly to enable the organisation to own and take responsibility for their plans.
What skills will I need?
Essential Criteria
Part or newly qualified accountant (or by experience)
Experience of financial planning, modelling and reporting
Experience of building strong business partnering relationships
Shows dedication and accountability. Can set and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and effectively managing expectations
Ability to clearly present and explain financial information and extract key issues
Highly numerate with an analytical approach to problem solving
