Finance Assistant

 

Description:

As the Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day running of the finance function, supporting with transactional accounting and month-end processes. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team, with hybrid working available once probation is completed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post daily sales and purchase transactions, including micro sales and purchases.
  • Input overheads, company card expenses, and direct costs into the accounting system, ensuring entries reconcile with supplier statements.
  • Process international and local payments accurately through the online banking system.
  • Allocate payments and maintain accurate records within internal accounting and database systems.
  • Reconcile main bank accounts and ensure exchange rates are updated daily.
  • Prepare and input journals, bills, and inventory adjustments for approval.
  • Support finance leadership with credit control reporting and VAT requirements.
  • Monitor shared finance inboxes and action queries throughout the day.
  • Complete key month-end duties including multi-currency bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparing month-end reports and supporting financial documentation.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Strong attention to detail and confident working with numerical data.
  • Good Excel skills and comfortable learning new finance systems.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • A team player with a positive approach.
