Description:

The Director of Finance oversees the team who all work together to provide a range of services to staff and students. Many transactions are handled on line, but there are also frequent telephone and face-to-face enquiries. The team has a very ‘can do’ attitude to ensure processes run efficiently and in accordance with the regulations, whilst also delivering a friendly and helpful service to all stakeholders. We are looking for someone who has a friendly personality, strong communication skills and a positive approach to finding solutions and getting things done.

Duties include: purchase ledger; posting journals; raising invoices; payments from student funds; trip payments and handling queries. This is a full time, full year post although we may have some flexibility for the right candidate and will consider someone who wants to work fewer hours a week, or weeks of the year, subject to flexibility to meet key deadlines. The successful candidate will be educated to A level or equivalent, be confident in using IT and finance packages and have experience of at least some of the following: cash banking; purchase/sales ledger; student finance; VAT; payroll; procurement and month end processing.
