Description:

WMG at the University of Warwick is seeking two motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistants to join their dynamic team. In this fast-paced and vibrant department, you will be instrumental in providing excellent financial support, helping to maintain smooth operational processes across purchases, sales, payroll, expenses, and travel bookings.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a finance environment and possess strong knowledge of purchasing/procurement processes and financial controls. You should be flexible, positive, and have a strong commitment to customer service, alongside excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, essential for managing high volumes of transactions accurately.

Candidates should be educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent), including Maths and English. Although not mandatory, those studying for or holding a part qualification in AAT accountancy are highly desirable. Proficiency with IT systems and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines is also essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing financial transactions including purchases, sales, payroll, expenses, and travel bookings

  • Supporting procurement activities and ensuring compliance with financial controls

  • Managing high transaction volumes with accuracy and efficiency

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborating with finance and departmental colleagues to ensure seamless operations

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Finance environment experience with a focus on purchasing and procurement

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in finance systems

  • Accuracy and attention to detail under pressure

  • Flexibility and a positive, service-oriented attitude

  • Educated to GCSE level (including Maths and English)

  • Studying for or part-qualified in AAT (desirable)
