To work with the CFO Media and the media leadership team to support and deliver the strategy of the business – with a key focus on protecting profits and driving and enabling growth. To provide financial insight, discipline and partnering for the Media business.

The team is made up of 4 Finance Business Partners structured across our 4 main revenue streams: Subscriptions, Newsstand, Ads/Events/Partnerships and New Product Development. The team will be working closely together to identify internal and external opportunities and flag risks as early as possible.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare forecasts and comprehensive budgets on a rolling basis using internal trends analysis and external market insights
  • Partner with the business, set up and run effective reforecast and flash processes to identify and address deviations from performance through clear and measurable PIPs – flag risks, mitigations and improvements
  • Providing commercial analytical decision support including financial modelling, scenario building, developing dynamic models to play with key levers
  • Developing comprehensive insight into P&Ls
  • Sense and response as quickly as possible to internal and external factors
  • Ensure consistency in revenue and cost allocation assumptions to allow meaningful business wide analysis and comparisons
  • Analyse & track internal trends, opportunities, gaps. Identify emerging patterns in revenues/cost/financial measurements
  • Partner with the business to maintain & share KPIs aligning financial performance measures with non- financial performance measures to improve business intelligence and support business-wide view of performance
  • Support strategies to identify revenue growth/cost savings and adjacency opportunities
  • Support and inform the set-up of financial systems, dashboards and financial reporting requirements
