Finance Business Partner

Description:

Venesky-Brown Recruitment is working with a public sector organization to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a 6-month full-time contract. The role is fully on-site and offers a highly analytical, advisory, and strategic finance function that supports senior leadership and directorates to drive sound financial governance and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive financial management services across specified directorates

• Oversee financial governance ensuring regularity, compliance, and value for money

• Provide senior management with insight-driven, data-led advice aligned with strategic goals

• Act as a key budget custodian, ensuring accurate forecasting and variance reporting

• Promote financial awareness and lead training initiatives across directorates

• Develop monthly reporting, variance analysis, and scenario planning

• Liaise between directorates and procurement to support sourcing and budget control

• Challenge financial decisions to enforce sound financial principles and control

• Support business planning, cultural change regarding devolved budgeting, and continuous improvement

• Produce forecasts and risk assessments for reporting to the Board and Department of Health

• Ensure strategic financial reporting using advanced analytics and Excel tools

• Handle financial authorizations, including BACS, cheques, and petty cash

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Full current membership of a CCAB-recognised accounting body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)

• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in management accounting and financial analysis

• Proven ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data for strategic use

• Experience presenting financial advice clearly to senior management

• Ability to apply sound judgment in providing financial guidance

• Strong IT proficiency, particularly advanced-level Microsoft Excel

• Effective planner with strong attention to detail and multitasking under pressure

• Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills

• Valid driving licence or access to suitable transport for business needs
