Our Cost Management Team at RLB proactively manage the cost of a building project, from the initial design stages through to the building’s completion and sometimes even the costs incurred through maintenance and operation once the building is up and running. We are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Data Centre, Residential, Education, Healthcare and Retail clients and projects. Surveyors work in close contact with the client, advising them on financial and legal matters that arise during the project.

Overview Of Role

We are currently recruiting a Financial Cost Controller to join a client focused team within our Thames Valley region. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our team. Depending on the candidate’s home location, the expectation would be three days per week at either the client's office in Weybridge or at the Thames Valley office in Winnersh with the remaining two days working from home. The candidate can of course spend more time in the offices if preferred. A five-day working week is preferred.

Financial / Cost Controller

Programme Cost Controller required for a client focused team based in Weybridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and support our Cost Management team in the delivery of services on an important long-term account for RLB in the health and life sciences sector.

Activities

  • Preparation of financial reporting / gap / overlap analyses including proposing and agreeing solutions to achieve alignment between data sets.
  • Analysis of GL vs. RLB reports including provision of evidenced conclusions.
  • Maintenance and update of monthly financial status sheet for RLB team to review.
  • Maintenance and update of consultant invoice trackers.
  • Review of cost reports (prepared by others) and reconciliation of final accounts with Finance records.
  • Review of and response to ad hoc requests from the client Finance / RLB team for financial information.
  • Collating and actioning month end accruals.
  • Implementation of lessons learnt from FY22/23 year end.
  • Ensuring costs are correctly allocated against projects for capitalisation purposes.
  • Preparation of paid invoice tracker.

Required Skills

  • High proficiency with Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Financial background / good understanding of accounting processes
  • Robust stakeholder management / customer relationship building
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder skills including liaison between multiple parties.
