Financial Reporting Manager

 

Description:

CAE, a global leader in aviation training and simulation, is hiring a Financial Reporting Manager to join their Civil Aviation Training team at the London-Gatwick Commercial Training Centre in Crawley. This leadership role will guide a finance team of 5–6 Financial Analysts and play a critical part in global financial reporting within the civil aviation division.

As part of the finance leadership team, you will oversee month-end close processes, manage corporate and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions, maintain internal controls, and collaborate across departments such as treasury, M&A, tax, audit, and business development. You will be key in driving standardization, process improvement, and financial governance across entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

  • Deliver statutory reporting (financial statements, taxation, VAT, etc.) for all regional entities.

  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations and ensure accuracy of revenue and balance sheet reporting.

  • Conduct regular risk and opportunity reviews and maintain strong governance over key financial areas such as leases, loans, and prepaids.

  • Administer cash flow forecasting and bank account management.

  • Govern fixed asset controls, IFRS 16 compliance, and staff expense processes.

  • Manage tax compliance including VAT, payroll, withholding, and corporation taxes.

  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely response to auditor inquiries.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).

  • Proven leadership or team management experience (direct, indirect, or project-based).

  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and international accounting.

  • Proficient in managing multiple currencies and cross-border finance operations.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment with tight reporting deadlines.

  • Strong IT literacy, including Excel, ERP systems, HFM, and Hyperion Planning.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages like Spanish or Dutch are advantageous.

Contract & Work Details:

  • Permanent position with 39 working hours per week (Monday to Friday).

  • Hybrid working model (2 days on-site, 3 days remote).

  • Based in Crawley, London-Gatwick Commercial Aviation Training Centre.
