Description:
Alt Fire is seeking Fire Engineers of all levels to join their innovative, supportive, and forward-thinking consultancy practice based in Manchester or London. The ideal candidates will work on a range of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public sector projects, collaborating with design teams, clients, and approval authorities while developing comprehensive and pragmatic fire strategies.
Develop fire strategies for new and existing buildings in compliance with regulations and standards
Conduct design reviews and formulate both code-compliant and performance-based fire solutions
Perform site inspections and generate detailed technical reports
Liaise directly with clients, design teams, and authorities to deliver tailored engineering services
Provide internal support and mentorship to fellow engineers across the team
Participate in business growth initiatives and contribute beyond project work
Maintain long-term client relationships by delivering timely, high-quality services
A degree in Fire Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline
Familiarity with UK codes and standards (e.g., Approved Document B, BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 7974)
Interest or experience in performance-based fire engineering methods: CFD, evacuation modeling, fire dynamics, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise report writing
Passion for continued professional development and commitment to Chartered status (Chartered or working towards it)
