The Fixed Asset Accountant role works within the UK Financial Accounting team, which is responsible for the integrity of the Financial Balance Sheet of Airbus Operations Ltd, submitted for both Airbus
Group reporting and statutory reporting. This unique position in the company enables the individual to gain an insightful top level view of the financials for the UK Commercial division and to understand the business drivers that sit behind the numbers.

How You Will Contribute To The Team
- Fixed Asset lifecycle management - Responsible for the management of the fixed asset accounting postings for both tangible and intangible assets - from Assets Under Construction, Entry into service, capitalisation and depreciation to retirement.
- Closing activity - Key contributor for the on time, on quality monthly delivery of the Fixed Asset elements of the Airbus Operations Ltd corporate financial statements submission. This includes fixed asset postings, balance sheet reconciliations and trend analysis, to ensure a good understanding of cost drivers in the areas responsible for. Building relations with the Consolidation team and the UK Finance team to strengthen the quality of the submissions.
- Audit - strong support in relation to external audit requirements and internal controls implementation, including asset physical verification activity and Assets Under Construction ageing.
- Consultant to the business - Advisor to Finance and the wider business on Fixed Asset accounting considerations, building relationships with stakeholders to gain their engagement and agreement of those accounting topics. Undertake training to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the Fixed Asset accounting requirements.
- Transnational Harmonisation - work with transnational counterparts to share best practice, devise harmonise ways of workings and implement improvement projects
- Ad hoc - Involvement in a wide range of ad hoc requirements / projects / digitalisation, to drive the function forward
The ideal candidate for the role should be able to demonstrate 2 key dimensions;
- Technical skills to understand complex accounting and SAP flows and systems (SAP, SAC / Business Warehouse tools)
- Stakeholder management skills to drive accounting integrity in the accounts
