Description:
You will lead the technical review of habitat creation needs/opportunities on the Tamar Estuary building this into a long-term plan for the estuary system. This project will consider changes resulting from sea level rise, opportunities to decommission or adapt existing flood risk management assets and the role intertidal habitats have in sequestering carbon.
You will also work with other EA project teams to support our activity on other Cornish Estuaries to maximise opportunity in protecting and enhancing these wonderful environments. You will also be expected to take up one of our Incident Management Duty Roles as part of this post.
The team
The role sits within the new RMA and Environment Project Development and Delivery Team, part the Partnerships and Strategic Overview team in our Flood and Coastal Risk Management department. This team focuses on the development and delivery of projects led by RMAs and where nature-based solutions are the approach to increasing resilience to catchments and communities. These areas are key to the delivery of the FCERM Strategy, better protecting 314,000 properties between now and 2027.
Experience/skills required
Be an excellent technical leader with experience of working on complex environmental Projects. Knowledge of estuarine systems and habitats is desirable.
