Forensic Accountant

Description:

The post holder will be involved in the interpreting of financial data presented in differing formats in order to form conclusions as to the performance of businesses operating in any number of different industries. This will involve in-depth analysis of different types of historical data such as production or sales in order to calculate projections as to how this output would vary in the future incorporating any number of various external factors.

Responsibilities 

The post holder will need to have in-depth knowledge of investment appraisal techniques used commonly within businesses and have the technical ability to assess the merits and credibility of financial and strategic business cases and the personal skills to debate and challenge those arguments with authority. You need to have good report writing skills and the ability to write about financial and business matters to non-accountants in a way that is detailed yet understandable. You will work as part of a team and the ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues is essential. You need to be comfortable in a workplace environment where challenge and debate is commonplace and highly desirable as a means of producing the best quality output.

The ideal candidate should feel comfortable conducting reviews and investigations within both small and large organisations, have keen analytical skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and need to be of an outgoing nature. Business travel will also be required, occasionally at short notice. They must be able to produce high-quality, robust outputs often at pace. They need to be proactive, flexible and self-confident with the ability to slot into a multi-disciplinary team and work unsupervised as necessary.
