Former Tenant Arrears & Sundry Debt Officer

 

Description:

Purpose:
The role involves managing and monitoring the recovery of former tenant arrears and sundry debts related to housing. The position ensures effective rent collection and debt recovery while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of Trident Group’s former tenant arrears and sundry debt accounts.
  • Reduce financial losses by negotiating repayment arrangements with former tenants.
  • Collaborate with patch-based Officers, Income Team, Intensive Housing Management, and other relevant teams.
  • Monitor performance indicators (KPIs) and attend best practice forums to enhance recovery strategies.
  • Engage with customers through various communication methods, offering support and setting up payment plans.
  • Work with the Repairs/Maintenance team to identify and recover sundry debts related to recharges.
  • Attend training courses and contribute to policy relevance and improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Income Collection: Maximize recovery of former tenant arrears to reduce overall debt.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.

  • Policy Review: Regularly assess the relevance and effectiveness of policies.

Education:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths & English.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of legal processes in arrears and debt recovery.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and various software tools.
  • Effective communication and ability to deal with diverse groups of people.
  • Clean driving license with access to a motor vehicle.
