Foundation Training Programme Director

Description:

Tutor (Director of Medical Education), the Foundation School Director (FSD) and to the Chief Executive / Medical Director of the Trust. They will work closely with all and the Faculty Support Team to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centered care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.

The Foundation Training Programme Director will assist the Postgraduate Clinical Tutor in managing the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education in the Trust.

The Foundation Training Programme Director is professionally and managerially accountable to the Clinical Tutor. The Foundation Training Programme Director will focus upon improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.

HEE working across the West Midlands is responsible for the delivery of high quality postgraduate medical and dental education and training across the region and HEE is committed to the development of a medical and dental workforce that will support high quality patient care.

It is expected that Foundation Training Programme Directors continue in clinical practice while fulfilling the role, all applicants must be working at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust to be considered for this role. The posts will be offered for 3 years in the first instance with satisfactory annual appraisal, with the option of extending for a further 3 years if mutually agreed.
