Fpga Development Engineer

Description:

Join a leading quantitative trading firm working on ultra-low-latency real-time systems globally. The role involves designing and deploying high-performance FPGA hardware systems to accelerate trading technology, collaborating closely with technologists and traders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-performance FPGA systems using SystemVerilog and/or High-Level Synthesis (HLS)

• Roll out new hardware solutions to the trading community

• Coordinate with development teams for technology introduction

• Contribute to productivity tooling for hardware development

• Interpret high-level requirements to design exceptional hardware/software solutions

• Keep updated on latest industry hardware and FPGA development trends

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong preference for candidates with proprietary finance, high-frequency trading (HFT), or market-making experience

• Hands-on FPGA development ownership of significant systems and subsystems

• Pragmatic approach to solving technical problems with sound tradeoff understanding

• Quantitative understanding of hardware/software interaction

• Passionate about development and continuous learning

Bonus Skills:

• Linux and scripting languages (preferably Python)

• High-Level Synthesis (HLS) flows

• CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub

• Automated testing experience

• Embedded processors, networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, IB)

• Financial protocol or algorithmic experience

• High-speed networking and serial protocols knowledge (PCIe, transceivers)
