Frontend Developer

An ambitious retail brand based in Central Manchester is seeking a Frontend Developer to take full ownership of their Shopify and WordPress sites. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the founders in a small, friendly team, with support from an offshore development team. The brand operates with a start-up feel, providing an exciting environment for personal and professional growth.

As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the Shopify and WordPress websites, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable user experience. You will manage the look, feel, and functionality across both platforms, build new features, and improve the customer journey. Close collaboration with the founders and offshore developers will be key to bringing ideas to life and launching new features.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve the Shopify and WordPress websites.

• Own the design, functionality, and user experience across both platforms.

• Build new features and enhance the customer journey and UI/UX.

• Collaborate with the founders to turn ideas into live updates.

• Work with offshore developers as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Shopify (Liquid, theme customisation).

• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (theme building, customisation, plugins).

• A good eye for design and understanding of user journeys (UI/UX).

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

• Proactive attitude and ownership of projects.

• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Figma or other design tools.

• Knowledge of Shopify apps, SEO basics, and performance improvements.

• Creative skills in branding or graphics.
