Description:

Coram’s Fields is seeking a Fundraising and Communications Assistant to support the organization’s fundraising and communications activities, helping to raise vital income and enhance public engagement. This new role will contribute to income generation from trusts, foundations, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising, while also managing digital communications, marketing materials, and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Support

  • Manage a portfolio of small trust and foundation funders, including stewardship and reporting.

  • Assist in developing funding applications and supporting larger bids.

  • Engage with corporate partners and identify new fundraising opportunities.

  • Organize and promote community fundraising events and corporate volunteering days.

  • Support individual giving campaigns, including one-off and regular giving.

  • Maintain donor records and engagement activities via the CRM system (Beacon).

Communications and Digital Engagement

  • Develop and manage website content, social media, and newsletters.

  • Create compelling case studies showcasing the charity’s impact.

  • Produce fundraising-related communications such as donor newsletters and campaigns.

  • Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to improve reach and impact.

  • Design digital and print materials, ensuring brand consistency.

  • Maintain internal communication with staff and volunteers to enhance engagement efforts.

Additional Duties

  • Support the implementation of fundraising and communications strategies.

  • Stay updated on fundraising and charity communication trends.

  • Assist in refining fundraising plans to maximize return on investment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, or communications in a professional setting.

  • Strong writing skills to produce engaging content for different audiences.

  • Ability to manage social media channels and website content.

  • Proficiency in creating funding applications, reports, and donor materials.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, InDesign) for marketing materials.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, communications, or marketing.

  • Experience using CRM systems for donor management.

  • Experience in individual giving, digital fundraising, or donor stewardship.

  • Knowledge of SEO, paid social media advertising, and email marketing automation.

  • Ability to create and implement a content strategy for engagement.

  • Understanding of safeguarding and best practices in charity communications.
