Upholstery Technician – Employed or Self-Employed
Are you an experienced upholsterer who enjoys working on the road, solving problems on-site and getting well paid for it?
You’ll be working on commercial upholstery in a variety of hospitality and commercial venues – pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality sites – with a steady flow of work all year round.
The Role – What You’ll Be Doing:
- On-site repair and restoration of commercial upholstery and furniture in hospitality and contract environments.
- Cutting, sewing, top-stitching, quilted work and button-back upholstery, using a mobile sewing setup where required.
- Travelling independently to different venues; some projects will involve occasional overnight stays (fully covered when employed).
- Producing high-quality, professional work, often to tight timescales, while maintaining a friendly, customer-focused approach.
Experience sought:
- Solid experience as an Upholstery Technician / Upholsterer in commercial furniture production, installation or restoration.
- Confident using mobile sewing machines for top-stitch, quilted and button-back work.
- Used to working at pace while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently on-site with minimal supervision.
- For contractors: you will need your own van and tools, with additional fuel support on longer journeys.
