Description:

A leading organization is seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Architect to lead a critical cloud migration project from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a senior-level contract role offering the flexibility of hybrid work based in London, with potential for fully remote work for the ideal candidate. The position is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end migration process, engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and shaping strategic direction and cost modelling efforts to ensure a seamless transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute full-cycle cloud migrations from Azure to GCP, including architecture mapping and workload refactoring

• Create and present detailed GCP cost models, identifying potential cost savings and trade-offs

• Engage with Google and partner stakeholders as a GCP Subject Matter Expert (SME) or certified architect

• Guide migration assessments and strategic recommendations, supporting decisions during the initial 12-week planning phase

• Address organizational change management, including team retraining, restructuring, and process realignment

• Prepare comprehensive documentation and migration roadmaps, with optional pilot execution if required

Required Experience & Skills:

• Extensive GCP architecture and migration experience, particularly Azure-to-GCP transitions

• Certified in Google Cloud technologies, ideally in a lead or SME role

• Expertise in Azure service architecture and refactoring approaches for GCP

• Deep knowledge of cloud cost modeling, assessments, and financial analysis

• Experience managing change across cloud transformation projects, including restructuring and retraining teams

• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience delivering technical and strategic documentation
