Geospatial Technical Lead

Description:

The Environment Agency is seeking an experienced Geospatial Technical Lead to drive GIS development across the organisation, supporting colleagues to deliver challenging environmental objectives. The role involves setting strategic direction, coordinating delivery, and working collaboratively with the GIS Manager, Senior Team Leader, and colleagues across the EA, DEFRA, and external partners.

The National GIS Team delivers Geospatial services through tools including Easimap, ArcGIS Pro, EAMaps (ArcGIS Enterprise), and ArcGIS Online (AGOL). The Technical Lead ensures a modern, well-managed corporate GIS service that meets organisational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the evolution and delivery of Geospatial Services across the Environment Agency.

• Work strategically and tactically to set GIS direction and coordinate service delivery.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure GIS services meet organisational objectives.

• Support and coordinate with service leads to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions.

• Maintain and improve GIS tools, services, and access for organisational users.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Extensive experience in delivering Enterprise Geospatial Services.

• Proven ability to set strategic direction and coordinate tactical delivery.

• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Hands-on experience with ESRI products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online).
