Geotechnical Discipline Lead

Description:

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting for a Geotechnical Discipline Lead to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA), supporting the delivery of critical water infrastructure projects for Anglian Water. You will lead the geotechnical input to the SPA framework, ensuring the successful completion of a 330km pipeline project and subsequent phases. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in geotechnical engineering who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Lead the geotechnical team to create value-driven solutions, ensuring successful project delivery.

• Quality Control: Develop procedures, standards, and guidance for geotechnical design, ensuring adherence to a right-first-time approach.

• CDM Regulations: Ensure compliance with CDM regulations in all geotechnical activities.

• Collaboration: Work closely with SPA partners, supply chain, and other teams to ensure geotechnical resources support the SPA programme.

• People Management: Oversee the geotechnical team, providing performance management, mentoring, and development opportunities.

• Investigation Oversight: Ensure geotechnical investigations contribute effectively to programme development and project design.

• Risk Communication: Identify and communicate key ground risks to non-specialist project teams.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively to ensure geotechnical outputs align with wider project goals.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Degree: University degree in a related subject.

• Geotechnical Engineering: Proven experience delivering geotechnical engineering outputs and supporting detailed design.

• Design & Build: Familiarity with a design and build environment, including temporary works design.

• Technical Communication: Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to team members and stakeholders.

• Resilience & Adaptability: Operate independently with resilience and flexibility, handling challenges efficiently.
