Description:
The duties and responsibilities of the GIS Manager - Asset Information & Systems are:
- Responsibility for leading a team of GIS professionals to develop and effectively deliver innovative GIS solutions and provide support across SHE Transmission. This includes effective and efficient allocation of work to support the function of Asset Management and Operations and meet the business demands for new GIS applications.
- Lead and manage the identification, design, and maintenance of innovative and technically complex GIS solutions, applications and workflows to support the effective and efficient delivery of individual tasks and wider business processes across the transmission business.
- Develop and own procedures and workflows that create and maintain secure and robust GIS datasets to ensure all data held is up to date, relevant, cleansed, quality assured and meets the required integrity and quality standards, including appropriate metadata.
- Develop, promote, and ensure excellent GIS support across the business, including development of mobile mapping, team specific online applications, ArcGIS Enterprise, 3D Visualisation and asset monitoring to ensure the business fully realises the benefit of spatial mapping in asset management, project delivery and operations.
- Develop and protect important internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure excellent communication channels are maintained to facilitate the sharing of information and data, through the gate process.
- Lead on supporting the growth and development of GIS throughout the business and facilitate the integration of GIS with other systems, technologies and solutions not limited to preparing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting GIS team budgets and GIS KPIs within agreed parameters to ensure efficient and effective spend against business targets.
