Description:
The Global eLearning Instructional Design Manager will be directly responsible for delivering high-impact instructional design projects within a global R&D training environment. The role focuses on the end-to-end design, development, and quality assurance of digital learning and communication solutions that support operational excellence, compliance, and capability development across global R&D functions.
The learning solutions delivered in this role will support over 10,000 users across 50+ countries and play a critical part in risk management, regulatory compliance, and organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an expert instructional design consultant and driver for digital learning concepts and technical design methodologies within global learning development teams.
- Lead and manage assigned instructional design projects from concept through to delivery, including storyboard design, art direction, development, testing, and deployment.
- Coordinate and oversee all programming, build, and creative activities for digital learning solutions across a wide range of subject matter.
- Select and apply the most appropriate authoring technologies to optimise cost efficiency, learner engagement, and innovation.
- Ensure full quality control and user acceptance testing of all digital learning deliverables.
- Enforce compliance with technical quality standards (including SCORM/AICC), programming consistency, and brand alignment.
- Oversee deliverables produced by internal developers, external vendors, and functional stakeholders to ensure consistency and quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or a related field, with:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior digital learning or instructional design role
- OR
- A lower-level qualification supplemented by 8+ years’ relevant experience with a clear progression path.
- Extensive experience designing innovative and interactive digital learning solutions, supported by a strong professional portfolio.
- Advanced proficiency in digital authoring and creative design tools, including:
- HTML5
- Adobe Creative Suite (including After Effects)
- Video production tools
- Articulate Storyline, Captivate, or equivalent platforms
- Expert understanding of learning theory and pedagogy, with proven application in digital instructional design.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated, creative, and solution-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
