Graduate Ecologist

Pegasus Group is inviting applications for its 2026 Graduate Training Scheme within the Biodiversity team based in Edinburgh. As a Graduate Ecologist, you will work closely with experienced consultants on a variety of ecological and environmental projects across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, residential, commercial, and renewable energy. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience, developing both your technical and analytical skills while contributing to meaningful environmental solutions that shape sustainable communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Biodiversity and Ecology team in delivering ecological projects for clients across a range of sectors.

• Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of ecological data.

• Contribute to biodiversity and habitat assessments, ecological surveys, and impact evaluations.

• Support project management activities, including coordination, reporting, and client communication.

• Collaborate with internal teams to provide clients with high-quality, evidence-based ecological advice.

• Develop your technical expertise through ongoing mentoring and participation in the Pegasus Graduate Training Scheme.

• Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world environmental challenges.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related environmental discipline.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm for biodiversity and sustainability.

• Experience in biodiversity-related work (desirable but not required).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data management skills.
