Pegasus Group is inviting applications for its 2026 Graduate Training Scheme within the Biodiversity team based in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates passionate about ecology, biodiversity, and sustainable development to begin their careers in an environment that combines innovation, mentorship, and professional growth.

As a Graduate Ecologist, you will work closely with experienced consultants on a variety of ecological and environmental projects across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, residential, commercial, and renewable energy. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience, developing both your technical and analytical skills while contributing to meaningful environmental solutions that shape sustainable communities.

This role offers the ideal foundation for launching a successful career in ecology, with structured training, mentorship from leading professionals, and exposure to diverse real-world projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Biodiversity and Ecology team in delivering ecological projects for clients across a range of sectors.

  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of ecological data.

  • Contribute to biodiversity and habitat assessments, ecological surveys, and impact evaluations.

  • Support project management activities, including coordination, reporting, and client communication.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide clients with high-quality, evidence-based ecological advice.

  • Develop your technical expertise through ongoing mentoring and participation in the Pegasus Graduate Training Scheme.

  • Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world environmental challenges.


Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related environmental discipline.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm for biodiversity and sustainability.

  • Experience in biodiversity-related work (desirable but not required).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data management skills.
