Daniel Owen are excited to work with one of the UK's leading deliverers of design and build projects for the life sciences sector.

Our client, a renowned building services design house and principle contractor, are looking to recruit for their 2-year graduate development programme.

Joining their scheme will embark you on a 2-year development scheme as part of the 10-strong graduate community, giving you the opportunity to develop building services engineering skills while working on bespoke, technically challenging, design and construct projects in specialist and regulated markets, interacting directly with world leading end user clients.

The scheme will see you journey across all areas of their business, learning both technical and commercial skills, delivering varied and exciting work on different projects. Although your base will be the Swindon/Oxford offices, you will be offered opportunities to work across the companies offices based across the South of England, the Midlands and Scotland.

After four years with the company, you will be supported in attaining chartership with an appropriate body (CIBSE, MCIOB etc), should you wish to pursue it.

Your responsibilities:

  • To demonstrate a hunger to learn, a desire to push yourself, technical astuteness and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn the fundamentals of mechanical and electrical systems, under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
  • Learn the process of developing works packages, procurement through supply chain partners and how to assemble a profitable contract sum.
  • Prepare construction documents, including contracts.
  • Lead the co-ordination of high complexity projects and programmes with oversight from experienced team members.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills, through training and mentorship from experienced team members following a structured chartership framework.

You:

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction related field.
  • Strong academic performance and ability to research and learn new engineering principles independently.
  • Ability to think from first principles to develop elegant, efficient and economical design solutions.
  • A passion for design excellence and a desire to develop a career in this field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new software packages such as AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Project, Excel.
