Pegasus Group is inviting applications for its 2026 Graduate Training Scheme, offering an exceptional opportunity for aspiring Graduate Town Planners to join the dynamic Planning Team based in Birmingham. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive start to your career, combining practical project exposure with professional mentorship in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting planning consultancy services across a wide range of projects and sectors. You’ll work closely with experienced planning professionals to develop your technical skills and gain first-hand experience of the UK planning process, policy frameworks, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications and associated documentation.
Assist in conducting research, site visits, and preparing reports to inform planning proposals.
Participate in public consultations and stakeholder engagement activities.
Contribute to the preparation of planning statements, design and access statements, and environmental assessments.
Provide support in the coordination and delivery of projects across residential, commercial, energy, education, and mixed-use developments.
Collaborate with clients, local planning authorities, and other statutory bodies to facilitate project progress.
Gain exposure to multiple aspects of town and urban planning, developing a solid understanding of the planning system and its practical applications.
Candidate Requirements:
Must hold (or be working toward) an RTPI-accredited degree or a closely related qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or the Built Environment.
Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A proactive and creative mindset, with the ability to think independently and “outside the box.”
Work experience or an internship in planning or related disciplines is advantageous but not mandatory.
