STV Creative are STV’s award-winning creative agency. Our in-house division work closely with STV’s marketing team to deliver big idea-based marketing campaigns that bring our brand to life. We also provide brand support and guidance across the wider STV business.

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Design internship within our talented design team, working across a variety of projects and briefs. You will be highly creative, ideas driven with a passion for embracing new technologies and techniques to continually improve our creative output. This is a varied role for someone who is keen to learn with the opportunity to develop and progress to more complex projects.

Reporting to the Senior Designer you will work both independently and in close collaboration with the creative team to:

  • Provide support by generating ideas and design solutions for a wide range of projects, as well as day-to-day design work.
  • Contribute to the creative process, from getting involved at the concept stage, reviewing work with senior team members to artworking final assets.
  • Creation of engaging, high quality assets for campaigns including print, TV, outdoor, digital display, emails, social media posts, showreels and more.
  • Manipulate imagery to allow it to work across numerous assets.
  • Liaise with other members ot the team including creative producers, creatives and motion designers to bring graphics to life on TV.
  • Giving and receiving creative feedback on your work and that of others.
  • Develop a good understanding of the STV brand guidelines and how to apply those consistently across all of your work, but also being innovative and forward thinking in your approach.
  • Confidently pitch work to internal stakeholders as part of a team, and individually.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A portfolio showcasing strong creative skills and digital design projects is essential for this role.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in graphic design related discipline is desirable.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • An understanding of the principles of good graphic design, with the ability to apply them whilst working with existing brand guidelines.
  • An interest in independent learning and ambition to progress as a designer.
  • A team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to respond to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail is critical, including excellent skills in literacy and grammar.
  • A self-starter with bags of initiative, able to get stuck in and deliver against client needs.
  • A creative thinker, ability to generate original concepts and ideas.
  • Working knowledge of Premiere video editing systems and/or Adobe After Effects would be advantageous, but a willingness to learn would suffice.
  • A passion for tv, advertising and visual communication.
