The Role
The successful candidate will be a key role in the communications and marketing team of Aberystwyth University’s Department of Research, Business & Innovation (RBI). This creative and organised individual will produce design solutions for digital communication channels, creating a range of digital assets and content to support RBI’s knowledge exchange activities. The role will also be responsible for developing and designing print resources.
What you’ll do
This job description is subject to review and amendment in the light of the changing needs of the University, to provide appropriate development opportunities and/or the addition of any other reasonable duties.
- Design: Design and produce engaging dynamic graphic design and text - from conception through to production - for guidelines, articles, event adverts, branded information, discussion guides, infographics, reports and social media including written, visual, web, video and audio content.
- Campaign: In alignment with University, RBI and specific communication strategies as well as brand guidelines, the officer will support defining requirements, visualising and creating content to raise awareness of Aberystwyth University’s (AU) research and knowledge exchange engagement, and its role in contributing to social and economic developments regionally, in Wales and beyond.
- Collaboration: Work as part of a team, both independently and collaboratively, to develop, revise and produce communication materials while proactively identifying areas of need and solving problems as they arise.
- Events: Assist in the implementation of physical, virtual and hybrid events in relation to research, innovation and knowledge exchange with availability to work extended hours or on weekends, if required.
- Quality Control: Proof all design and production output to ensure completed work is error-free, meets the brief and achieves the desired design standards and brand guidelines. Enhance all designs to meet accessibility standards.
- Other: Responsible for archiving digital and print media, assisting with a variety of communication administration duties and any other reasonable duties requested commensurate with the grade of this role. To undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.
