As part of this transformation, the Sun Originals team is seeking a talented and dynamic Junior/Midweight Graphic Designer to play a pivotal role in producing eye-catching visual assets that amplify the impact of its fast-paced, agenda-setting video content.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with video producers, commissioning editors, and the social media team to craft visually engaging thumbnails and digital assets for sports, showbiz, and lifestyle (Fabulous) content. Your designs will be central in driving clicks, audience engagement, and brand recognition across YouTube and other digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thumbnail Creation: Design bold, high-impact thumbnails that grab attention, encourage clicks, and match the tone of the video content.

  • Format Branding: Develop original branding elements for video formats and apply them across digital assets, social media, and YouTube channels.

  • Brand Consistency: Follow established brand guidelines while infusing fresh creative ideas to suit varied audiences.

  • Collaboration: Work with editorial and video teams to align designs with editorial objectives.

  • Efficiency: Deliver high-quality work quickly in a high-pressure, newsroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong creative eye with expertise in layout, typography, and colour usage for digital platforms.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (knowledge of other Adobe Creative Cloud tools is advantageous).

  • Understanding of audience behaviour on YouTube, social media, and other online platforms.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork skills.
