Green Infrastructure Engagement Officer

Description:

Energy Garden is hiring a Green Infrastructure Engagement Officer 🌱

Energy Garden is looking for someone to play a key role in delivering new green spaces and community programmes across London.

Sitting at the intersection of green infrastructure, horticulture, community engagement and environmental education, this role is about much more than installing planting. You’ll work with residents, volunteers, schools, young people and local partners to help turn new green infrastructure into places that communities feel connected to and want to care for long term.

Working closely with our Green Infrastructure Lead and wider team, you’ll help take projects from design into delivery and ongoing stewardship. Your work will include coordinating planting and aftercare, facilitating community and volunteer sessions, supporting school workshops, growing local volunteer networks and helping communities build practical skills and ownership of the places around them.

We’re looking for someone with practical horticultural or landscaping experience, at least two years’ experience in community engagement or a related role, and the confidence to work independently across multiple sites. You’ll also need to enjoy being outdoors – this is a genuinely hands-on role, in all London weather!

At Energy Garden, we bring together people, place and power to build city-wide urban resilience. Our work spans community-led greening, education and training, and community-owned renewable energy, with local stewardship at the heart of how we work.
