Group Finance Manager

Your Recruitment Partner is seeking an experienced Group Finance Manager for a listed global SME with a UK office based in Macclesfield. This full-time, on-site role is an exceptional opportunity for a technically strong accountant with ambitions to progress into a Finance Director role in the future. The position will initially include the opportunity to hire and manage an Accounts Assistant, offering both leadership and strategic responsibility.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing financial statements, managing statutory accounts, coordinating tax submissions, handling payroll, and producing management accounts with insightful commentary. The company offers a collaborative, small office environment that values initiative and expertise in statutory reporting and consolidations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare Financial Statements and supporting notes for four Annual Reports.

• Collaborate with managers to prepare annual budgets.

• Coordinate with international agents for overseas tax return submissions.

• Support UK corporation tax returns preparation and submission.

• Produce UK Annual Tax returns for four companies (due end of September).

• Reconcile balance sheet control accounts and ensure accurate system postings.

• Produce Management Accounts, budget reforecasts, and financial commentary.

• Submit VAT/GST returns in the UK and other relevant countries.

• Manage inter-company invoicing and fixed asset/depreciation registers.

• Oversee payroll function, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

• Recruit and manage an Accounts Assistant.

Candidate Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) qualified.

• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a financial reporting role.

• Strong knowledge of statutory accounting and group consolidation.

• Experience in global businesses and foreign currency transactions (preferred).

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
