Description:

As Head of Communications, you will be responsible for leadership, development, and delivery of Delivery and Scheme’s communications, external publications such as annual reports, digital and engagement activities.

You will provide professional guidance to the Delivery & Scheme’s board and senior leadership team on strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, digital and reputational issues. You will be self-motivated and take responsibility for achieving communications and engagement outcomes and enjoy the challenge of a busy and varied leadership role.

You will represent Delivery and Schemes within the communications profession, ensuring they are part of the corporate communications strategy and deliverables. You will be responsible for developing the communications team within Delivery and Schemes building their knowledge enabling them to achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is a high profile role leading a communications team within Delivery and Schemes, it will be responsible for all external communications for the directorate
  • Responsibility to represent Delivery and Schemes in the communications profession, and attend governance boards be a member of the GPC board within Delivery and Schemes as required, to input on comms and engagement during their discussions
  • Devising and delivering a multidisciplinary communications strategy for Delivery and Schemes which is aligned with Ofgem’s Corporate Strategy and communications strategy.
  • Lead the Delivery and Schemes communications team building the culture of the new team, embedding new ways of working and ensuring they are a valued part of the communications profession and Delivery and Schemes directorate.
  • Play a leadership role within the wider Communications Profession, including developing and mentoring communications staff from across the organisation and leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver key projects
  • The post holder should also have a strong track record of promoting diversity and inclusion through communications and engagement
