Description:

Lord Wandsworth College, a registered charity providing outstanding caring education since 1912, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to take on the role of Head of Cricket (HOC). This is a senior position within the Directorate of Sports and reports directly to the Director of Sport. The successful candidate will lead and manage all aspects of the cricket programme for boys and girls, while also contributing to the strategic development of cricket and other sports at the college.

The college aims to bring national prominence to its cricket programme, and this role is central to achieving that ambition. The HOC will ensure excellence in coaching, programme delivery, and player development, while fostering a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the entire cricket programme for both boys and girls.

• Develop strategies to raise the national profile of cricket at the college.

• Oversee the coaching, training, and match schedules across all age groups.

• Collaborate with the Director of Sport to plan the future development of cricket and other sports.

• Ensure the highest standards of coaching and player welfare.

• Promote participation and excellence in cricket, encouraging pupils of all abilities.

• Support the broader sporting ethos of the college by contributing to other sports when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong background and proven track record in cricket coaching and programme development.

• Ability to inspire, lead, and mentor young athletes.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

• A passion for sports education and development.
