We are looking for a Head of Development and Fundraising to lead the overall strategy for philanthropy and alumni engagement. This is a senior role within the team which will work closely with the Director of LSTM and Chair of the Board of Trustees, as well as other senior colleagues within LSTM.

We are in the process of recruiting to a number of new roles across our External Relations team as we seek to grow our activities across communications, marketing and development. In this role, you will work within a very successful and well established team, to develop a strategic vision and plan for the future of Development & Fundraising at LSTM.

We are seeking an experienced Development and Fundraising leader, ideally with experience of Higher Education, with a strong background leading, nurturing and managing a team to deliver significant business impact. We are keen to hear from passionate and highly experienced professionals who can bring innovative approaches and make their mark quickly. Significant experience of managing a portfolio of major gifts with an understanding of major campaigns will be critical - experience working in international contexts, preferably countries with emerging philanthropy is desirable, as is a background in Higher Education.

The new Head of Development and Fundraising will work closely with the Heads of Corporate Communications and Marketing and lead a team of three staff. They will be responsible for developing, delivering and monitoring the overall strategy for development, fundraising and alumni engagement and will oversee the delivery of operational plans and activities to deliver growing, sustainable philanthropic income and engagement to support the mission and successful delivery of LSTM’s strategic priorities.

This will include identifying and managing new partnerships and initiatives, campaigns and endowment income, individual giving, corporate sponsorship, statutory grants, trusts and foundations. They will also personally manage a selected portfolio of major and principal gift prospective donors. They will also oversee the delivery of alumni and donor engagement plans to drive advocacy and build and nurture LSTM’s extended community.

You will bring:

• A strong track record in development, fundraising and alumni engagement at a senior level.
• Experience leading development, fundraising and/or alumni teams in a complex organisation, with the ability to inspire people and operate effectively at an executive-level.
• Significant experience of major gift individual and/or corporate fundraising and a proven track record of achieving fundraising targets and supporting others to do so.
• Knowledge of successful major gift fundraising projects as part of significant institutional campaigns.
• Solid understanding and experience of alumni engagement with a track record of success against core KPIs.
• A desire to make a positive impact at a unique, mission-focused organisation.
• An understanding of working in international contexts, preferably countries with emerging philanthropy, and within Higher Education
