Description:
The Head of Financial Crime has operational accountability for all activity to prevent financial crime across UK Life including customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, risk rating and periodic reviews, anti-money laundering (incl. sanctions and transaction monitoring) and policy investigations & fraud prevention.
The team is also responsible for the 1st line FC policy and oversight activity, including training, system ownership, internal and external reporting The role plays a pivotal role in the protection of the business and our customers from financial crime activity.
The role holder takes a leading role in the design and implementation of the target operating model for Financial Crime, collaborating with operational leaders, business leaders, 2nd line risk and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
The role will be required to deliver against business defined standards and goals whilst operating within agreed budgets to deliver and enable year on year improvements across key measures including financial crime prevention. customer experience and operational efficiency.
The role is a highly visible from a leadership perspective both within own team and across the wider business and provides a role model for Aviva values in action with the role holder leading circa 100 colleagues across multiple sites and products.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Excellent leadership skills including the ability to lead and inspire delivery through others
Knowledge and proven application of operational risk framework and controls
Experience in operational planning and making change happen in line with strategy
Experience of influencing key and senior stakeholders & great at collaborating across area
Proven resilience and ability to work with levels of ambiguity

Starting salary from £80,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
