As we continue our development and growth as a University, we are seeking to appoint a Head of Financial Performance and Planning. This is a key leadership role within the Finance and Resources Service of the University which has turnover of over £70m and employs around 850 FTE staff.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance and Planning, the postholder will help lead the annual and multi-year budget planning processes, including the preparation of forecasts within the annual financial return for the Office for Students. With a focus on ensuring clear and timely financial reporting, robust costing and pricing analysis and proactive financial appraisals of existing and new activities, this role is central to the University’s decision making, forward planning and the driving forward of income growth opportunities.

The postholder will work closely with Directors of Institutes and Services and members of the Vice Chancellor’s Executive and have a focus on developing the Financial Management team and the provision of financial information, including through development of the Agresso ledger system. This is a varied role requiring someone who is innovative, flexible and who builds effective relationships with a range of individuals and teams, communicating well and with credibility.
