Description:
Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025 and aligning with The University of Manchester’s Manchester 2035 strategy. The Head of Marketing, Communications and Recruitment will be a senior leader driving AMBS’s reputation, engagement, and recruitment efforts across MBA, Global Programmes, Executive Education, and taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The role involves leading the marketing, communications, and recruitment team, overseeing strategy development and delivery, managing budgets, evaluating performance, and fostering innovation through tools such as AI. The post-holder will champion evidence-based marketing, maintain the school’s brand, collaborate across university teams, and manage external PR agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead development and delivery of AMBS’s marketing, communications, and recruitment strategies with clear objectives and metrics
Manage the Marketing, Communications and Recruitment team, including target setting, staff development, workflow, and budget oversight
Maximise AMBS’s reputation through strategic communications and media relations
Oversee external PR agency and media strategy
Provide professional advice on marketing and communications to senior leadership
Support Salesforce CRM development and data-driven recruitment decisions
Integrate AI tools to enhance marketing innovation and engagement
Shape pricing, discounting, and international recruitment priorities
Manage lead scoring and nurture prospective students
Collaborate with Faculty and University teams for joint marketing activities
Act as brand manager and custodian of AMBS and University visual identity
Oversee corporate events strategy and corporate relations
Essential Skills:
Degree or equivalent experience; marketing communications qualification desirable
Extensive integrated marketing and communications experience in complex organisations
Strong leadership and budget management capabilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Resilience and crisis management skills
Deep media relations and PR expertise
Analytical, persuasive, and highly visible leadership style
Excellent copywriting, proofreading, and IT skills
Professional representation of AMBS
Awareness of international business school landscape is desirable
