St. James’s Place (SJP) is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Manager for Partnership Portfolio Content to lead and oversee the strategy, design, and delivery of high-quality content across its Partnership and Financial Management Training (FMT) development programmes. This leadership role plays a vital part in shaping the future of the firm’s training and development initiatives for Partners, Financial Advisers, and key internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all content within the Partnership Programme portfolio aligns with SJP’s strategic goals of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role demands a proactive leader who can drive transformation, foster collaboration, and deliver measurable impact across learning and development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

1. Content Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end content development process across all Partnership and FMT programmes.

  • Ensure all content supports Partner and Adviser growth, retention, and capability building.

  • Align content design with company strategy and evolving business needs.

  • Oversee the ongoing enhancement of Term 1–6 programmes, ensuring they reflect current industry trends and regulations.

2. Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Drive content evolution through regular evaluation and participant feedback.

  • Ensure all materials meet regulatory and compliance standards while maintaining best-in-class quality.

  • Integrate innovative learning methodologies to improve engagement and outcomes.

3. Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the Programme Content Team to deliver consistent excellence.

  • Create a high-performance environment with clear goals, accountability, and ongoing coaching.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, creativity, and professional growth.

4. Regulatory and Industry Alignment

  • Act as the primary liaison for internal compliance and external regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure all training materials reflect the latest updates in the financial services regulatory landscape.

5. Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with senior leaders across the business to ensure content meets organizational and individual learning needs.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to integrate feedback and promote content adoption across the Partnership.

6. Coaching and Talent Development

  • Embed a strong coaching culture within the team and across the organization.

  • Support emerging talent by developing pathways for skill enhancement and leadership progression.

7. Performance Measurement and Evaluation

  • Regularly review content effectiveness using metrics, feedback, and performance indicators.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure relevance and measurable impact.

8. Strategic Leadership

  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the SJP Academy division.

  • Help define and execute long-term goals for the Partnership content strategy.

  • Support the ongoing development and upskilling of Financial Management Trainers (FMT).


Required Expertise and Competencies

  • Deep understanding of Partnership and Adviser development within the financial services sector.

  • Proven ability to create impactful learning content in regulated industries.

  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, aligning learning initiatives with business outcomes.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and professional qualification pathways.

  • Skilled in analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making to enhance learning impact.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
