M&G plc, a renowned international savings and investments business with a legacy of over 170 years, is seeking a Head of Product Oversight to join its team within M&G Life. This senior role is instrumental in leading the ongoing risk oversight for M&G Life’s expanding product range and ensuring robust second-line governance post-product launch.

The Head of Product Oversight will review and develop mechanisms for maintaining effective oversight of products after launch, focusing on risk controls, operational soundness, and regulatory compliance. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver meaningful management information (MI) to monitor product-related risks and controls.

• Conduct second-line assurance activities, including model reviews and risk opinion validations.

• Evaluate end-to-end processes to ensure desirable customer outcomes while mitigating financial and operational risks.

• Provide forward-looking, external insights on product risks and conduct thematic reviews or deep dives.

• Act as the main second-line liaison for Proposition & Pricing Teams.

• Support and enhance first-line governance frameworks for life and pensions products.

Knowledge Requirements:

• In-depth understanding of risks related to life insurance and pension products.

• Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, EIOPA, etc.).

• Familiarity with financial and insurance risk governance, risk appetite frameworks, and capital management.

• Comprehensive awareness of industry best practices and external regulatory developments.

• Expert knowledge of M&G systems, processes, and product structures.

Experience Requirements:

• Extensive experience in risk management within the life insurance domain, especially in connection with product oversight and governance.

• Proven ability to conduct ongoing product reviews and advise stakeholders on financial implications.

• Experience applying complex regulatory rules to real-world business challenges.

• Demonstrated capability to manage financial and non-financial risk frameworks across multiple product types.
