Description:

Fawkes & Reece is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join a highly regarded regional contractor delivering major £30M+ civil engineering projects across the South West. These projects fall under long-term framework agreements with key clients, ensuring a stable and secure pipeline of work.

In this role, you will report directly to the Health & Safety Manager and work in close collaboration with operational teams to ensure all activities remain compliant with UK legislation and organizational standards. The position requires you to act as a key advisor to both clients and site teams, offering best-practice guidance from the planning phase through to project completion.

You’ll become part of a seasoned and respected Health & Safety team, contributing toward fostering a positive health and safety culture through campaigns, training, and engagement initiatives. The company has a strong reputation in dynamic and complex civil engineering, with core expertise in heavy infrastructure and earthworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee site health & safety compliance for high-value civil engineering frameworks

• Provide strategic and practical H&S guidance to clients and project teams

• Support projects from pre-construction to completion with risk mitigation planning

• Participate in campaigns and events promoting organizational safety culture

• Ensure consistent compliance with health & safety legislation across all sites

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in civil engineering or construction

• Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations

• Experience in projects of similar scale and complexity

• Excellent communication and advisory skills

• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders
