Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Three Peaks Primary Academy is inviting applications from passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic professionals for the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in classroom learning and child development at a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

This is a permanent, part-time role starting in September 2025, involving 28.75 hours per week, across 39 school working weeks annually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead classroom sessions and deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining high standards of learning and engagement.

• Support teaching staff with curriculum delivery, classroom management, and lesson planning.

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing individual or group interventions where required.

• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

• Collaborate with teaching colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure all pupils have the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Candidate Requirements:

• Essential Qualifications:

  • HLTA Status or an equivalent recognized qualification

  • Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) in English and Mathematics

• Essential Experience and Knowledge:

  • Prior experience working in a primary school setting

  • Solid understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 and/or 2

  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour and support differentiated learning

• Desirable Skills:

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • A compassionate, energetic, and resilient approach to supporting children’s learning

  • A collaborative mindset and strong team spirit
