Housing Management Coordinator

 

Description:

This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in Yeovil. As our Housing and Property expert, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!

Typical day as a Housing Management Coordinator

  • We support our brilliant customers who have some quite complex backgrounds and support needs. They may have history of substance or alcohol dependence, offending, homelessness and some have ongoing mental health support needs.
  • Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
  • Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
  • Where there is a need, you’ll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
  • Getting rooms ready for the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you’ll turn around vacant or void rooms within set timescales.
  • Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

You bring

  • Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties.
  • Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
  • Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
  • A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners.

  • Manage your own diary
  • Based at our service in Chard you’ll spend your time travelling around the properties in the area. Occasionally you may be asked to support colleagues or attend meetings in Yeovil and Street
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating risk assessments, updating records of contact, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups
  • To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that
