The HSE Recruitment Network is currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to join a fast-paced and well-invested manufacturing organization based in North Acton, Greater London. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving a positive health and safety culture across a dynamic, forward-thinking production site.
As part of a collaborative and safety-driven team, you will support the on-site HSE Manager to implement, monitor, and enhance the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems. The organization places a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and aims to embed proactive safety ownership within all departments, ensuring the site is well-prepared for future challenges.
This position offers hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to key HSE initiatives such as contractor management, confined spaces, COSHH, and Lockout Tagout (LOTO) systems.
Assist the HSE Manager in implementing and improving the site’s Health and Safety Management System.
Act as a visible and approachable presence on the shop floor, supporting staff with safety guidance.
Proactively encourage positive safety behaviours and contribute to the company’s cultural safety journey.
Conduct risk assessments, implement control measures, and follow up to ensure compliance.
Perform site inspections and audits to maintain adherence to legal requirements and company procedures.
Support the investigation of incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring lessons are effectively shared across teams.
Develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work and ensure all documentation is current and compliant.
Manage and review COSHH assessments, ensuring the safe use and storage of hazardous substances.
Maintain detailed HSE documentation, including training logs, risk assessments, and inspection reports.
Assist in organizing Safety Days and internal safety campaigns to engage employees across departments.
Support environmental compliance initiatives including waste management, emissions control, and spill prevention.
Monitor and report on environmental performance and contribute to sustainability objectives like energy reduction and waste segregation.
Assist in achieving and maintaining compliance with ISO 14001 environmental standards and corporate sustainability goals.
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (completed or in progress).
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within food, beverage, paper, or packaging sectors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels.
Proactive, approachable, and enthusiastic personality with a hands-on approach to workplace safety.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a genuine passion for promoting a safe and sustainable workplace.
A positive and energetic attitude with the ability to engage effectively with factory teams.
Strong teamwork and relationship-building capabilities across different departments.
Dynamic approach to health and safety management, coupled with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
Competitive salary of £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
