Description:
HSEQ Manager plays an important part under the overall direction of the Business Unit lead for HSEQ to provide ‘value-added’ technical and specialist support to the HSEQ functional team and, where appropriate to the operating business.
You will be responsible for:
- HSEQ Strategy
- In the context of corporate, business unit and account objectives, support the implementation of strategy in your specialist area.
- Ensure that the operational business is properly implementing the Amey model, providing support to the Operational Safety Advisors / Technicians.
- Maintaining Professional Standards
- Stay abreast of developments in legislation, regulation, and industry best practice through an ongoing process of formal continuing professional development.
- Develop briefing on HSEQ topics and procedures to enable information to be cascaded via the Operational Safety Advisors / Technicians.
- Incident / Accident Investigations
- Under direction from the Business Partner ensure incident investigations identify and, using specialist technical knowledge, implement effective preventive actions through a process of root cause analysis.
- Gate keeper for BU airsweb, overseeing action closures to the required quality and standard, and formally challenging overdue items.
- Learning and Development
- Under direction of the HSEW Lead takes ownership of Amey policy, procedure, and guidance documents, amending them as necessary to reflect best working practices, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Policy and Procedure Guidance
- Support the Business Partner to review Amey management systems, processes, and procedures; and support the business in the implementation of risk control arrangements using specialist technical knowledge where necessary.
- Bids, Mobilisations and De-mobilisations
- Under direction from the Business Partner support Work Winning activities by ensuring that Business Unit bidding teams incorporate Amey’s strategy and approach to managing environmental compliance into bid submissions.
- Under direction from the Business Partner provide guidance, advice and support to management teams to ensure that mobilisations and demobilisation take place in compliance with Amey’s stated requirements.
- Assurance
- Apply specialist technical knowledge to observe and audit as necessary to identify areas of strength and weakness.
- Analyse information and data to identify trends and causes, reporting back to the Business Partner with recommendations.
